Natasha Trethewey, two term U.S. Poet Laureate, Pulitzer Prize winner, and 2017 Heinz Award Recipient, has written four collections of poetry and one book of nonfiction. An American Academy of Arts and Sciences fellow, she is currently Board of Trustees professor of English at Northwestern University. She lives in Evanston, Illinois.
Vogue Robinson was named Clark County’s second-ever Poet Laureateand she serves as Executive Director of Poetry Promise (poetrypromise.org), a non-profit which develops community-based programs to promote poetry. She moved to Nevada with a Bachelor’s Degree in English from SDSU in 2013. Since then, Vogue has represented Vegas at four national poetry competitions. Her work has been published in Vogue 3:16 Selected Poems, Clark, Red Rock Review, and Legs of Tumbleweeds, Wings of Lace: An Anthology of Literature by Nevada Women. Robinson’s poetry is largely narrative and conversational, she says she writes primarily to find clarity and to tell her family’s story.
